How we have built this site to be usable with impaired vision, and where it still falls short.
Last updated 22 October 2026
People come to an eye clinic because of their sight. A website that is hard to read is a poor way to greet them. We have built this site to be usable with impaired vision, and we treat accessibility problems as faults to be fixed rather than requests to be considered.
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 at level AA.
Text and background colours were chosen to meet the contrast ratios that standard sets. Text resizes with your browser’s zoom without the layout breaking or content disappearing. Every page works on a phone as well as a desktop.
The site can be navigated by keyboard alone, and the focused element is always visible. Images carry text descriptions. Form fields have labels that stay visible while you type, and errors are announced rather than only shown in colour. Headings are properly structured so a screen reader can move through a page by section.
The whole site is available in Arabic with a correct right-to-left layout, not a mirrored English one.
If you have asked your system to reduce motion, the site respects that and stops its animations.
Being honest is more useful than claiming perfection. Two things we know about:
The three blog articles are currently available in English only. The main pages of the site are fully bilingual.
Some technical treatment names in the Arabic pages remain in English where that is how they are used in practice in Jordan. We are reviewing which of those have a settled Arabic equivalent that patients would recognise.
If any part of this site is difficult for you to use, please tell us at Arabeyescenter@gmail.com or call +962 7 7795 0660. Describe what you were trying to do and what got in the way. We will reply within five working days and tell you what we are going to do about it.
