Who writes the clinical content here, what we cite, and what we refuse to publish.
Last updated 22 October 2026
Patients arrive with questions that deserve a straight answer, and much of what is written about eye surgery online is either advertising in disguise or too vague to act on. We publish to give our patients something accurate to read before and after they see us.
Clinical content on this site is written and reviewed under the supervision of Dr. Sirina Khlaifat, Consultant Ophthalmologist and Refractive Surgeon, who founded the centre. No clinical claim is published on this site without her review.
Our authors page lists who is responsible for the content and what their qualifications are.
We prefer primary sources: peer-reviewed journals, regulatory bodies such as the United States Food and Drug Administration, and public health institutions such as MedlinePlus from the United States National Library of Medicine. We name the source where we use it so you can check it yourself.
We do not cite manufacturer marketing material as evidence for a clinical claim. We do not present a single study as settled fact when the wider evidence disagrees with it. Where the evidence is genuinely uncertain, we say so rather than picking the more impressive answer.
We write about what a treatment can and cannot do, who is not a candidate, and what the complication rates are. An article that only lists benefits is advertising, and we do not want our patients to have to work out which one they are reading.
Each article carries its publication date. We review clinical content periodically and when a relevant guideline changes. Where we correct something material, we change the article rather than quietly deleting it, and the date is updated.
We accept no payment to feature, recommend or write about any product, device, lens or manufacturer. Where we name a technology we use, it is because we use it. Nothing on this site is sponsored content.
If you believe something here is inaccurate, write to Arabeyescenter@gmail.com and tell us what and why. We would rather be corrected than be wrong.
