What this page covers

This page explains what personal information Arab Eyes Center for Ophthalmology collects through this website, why we collect it, how long we keep it and what you can ask us to do with it. It covers the website only. Information you give us in person at the clinic, or that forms part of your medical record, is handled under our clinical record-keeping obligations and Jordanian medical practice rules, which are separate from this page.

What we collect, and when

We collect personal information in one situation only: when you choose to fill in a form on this website. We do not require you to create an account, and you can read every page on this site without giving us anything.

The appointment and contact forms ask for your name and phone number, which are required so that we can call you back. They also ask for your email address and, optionally, the service you are enquiring about and a message. Our server additionally records the date and time of the submission and the IP address it came from, which we keep only so that we can identify and block automated abuse of the form.

If you tell us which service you are enquiring about, that choice says something about your health. Under Jordan’s Personal Data Protection Law No. 24 of 2023, information about a person’s physical condition is sensitive personal data and is held to a higher standard. We treat it that way. The service field is optional, and you are free to leave it unanswered and simply ask us to call you.

Why we collect it

We use what you send us to contact you about your enquiry, to arrange or confirm an appointment, and to answer the question you asked. We do not use it for anything else.

We do not sell your information, we do not share it with advertisers, and we do not add you to a marketing list. If we ever wanted to send you something that was not a reply to your own enquiry, we would ask you first.

The legal basis we rely on

We rely on your consent. You give it by choosing to fill in and submit a form, having been told on this page what will happen to the information. Because the service field may reveal something about your health, we ask for that consent explicitly on the form itself rather than assuming it.

You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us. Withdrawing it does not undo anything we lawfully did before you withdrew it, and it does not affect any clinical record created if you went on to become a patient.

Who can see it

Submissions reach us in two places: an email to our clinic address, and a log file stored on our hosting account in a location that is not reachable from the public internet.

Access is limited to the clinic staff who handle appointments. Our hosting provider can technically access the server on which the data sits, as any hosting provider can, and is bound by its own contractual confidentiality obligations. We do not transfer enquiry data outside these parties.

How long we keep it

We keep website enquiries for twelve months from the date you send them, and then delete them. Twelve months is long enough to deal with a follow-up about an appointment you asked for and no longer than we need.

If you become a patient, your clinical record is a separate thing with its own retention period set by Jordanian medical record-keeping requirements. Deleting a website enquiry does not delete a medical record, and the two are not interchangeable.

What you can ask us to do

You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you from this website. You can ask us to correct it if it is wrong. You can ask us to delete it. You can withdraw the consent you gave. You can object to our holding it at all.

Write to us at the email address below and tell us what you want. We will reply within thirty days. We may need to confirm your identity first, so that we are not handing your information to somebody else. There is no charge.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your request, you may complain to the Personal Data Protection Unit established under Jordan’s Personal Data Protection Law.

Keeping it safe

The site is served over an encrypted connection, so what you type into a form cannot be read in transit. The enquiry log is stored outside the public web directory and the server is configured to refuse any request for it. The form is rate-limited to stop automated abuse.

No system is perfect, and we will not claim otherwise. If information about you were lost or exposed in a way likely to harm you, we would tell you and notify the Personal Data Protection Unit, within the timeframes the law sets.

Cookies and measurement

This site does not set any cookie, and does not load any analytics or advertising script, until you tell it to. When you first arrive you are asked. If you decline, or simply ignore the question, nothing is loaded and nothing is stored on your device beyond the record of your choice itself.

If you do accept, we load measurement from Google and from Meta. Our cookie page explains what each one does, and you can change your mind at any time from the link in the footer.

Children

Children are among our patients, and we are glad to treat them. This website, though, is written for the adult arranging the appointment. We ask that enquiry forms be completed by a parent or guardian rather than by the child.

Changes

This page was last updated on 22 October 2026. If we change how we handle personal information we will update this page and change that date. Material changes will be flagged on the site itself rather than made quietly.
